Blunder #1

Though divas strive for perfection in all that we do, mistakes are a fact of life.  But that doesn’t have to include home decorating. Knowing what to avoid can save you both time and money! This week’s blunder is……..

Using too many accessories

It is a well known fact that a diva can never have too many shiny things. It is also a fact that you can knick knack yourself to death. Give your rooms a break! Don’t cover every surface with bobble heads, figurines of unicorns (teddy bears, kitty cats, puppies, etc.), or glass whatevers. You are creating clutter!

Remember the fashion rule about looking at yourself in the mirror and taking one thing off before leaving the house? Well, it is also a great rule of thumb for decorating with accessories. Take a good look around your room and take one thing out!

Though if every surface in your room is covered, take more than one!

If you have the opposite problem, (which is rare) then place a chair or a floor vase in the empty spot until you come up with something better. Talk yourself out of using a stand loaded with collectibles. It’ll be harder to move than the vase when you do find an item for the spot.
